Lutheran General Sports Medicine Center

Directed by Family Medicine faculty member William W. Briner, M.D., the Lutheran General Sports Medicine Center provides a cutting edge experience into the art and science of sports related injuries, diagnosis and rehabilitation.

The Lutheran General Sports Medicine Center is a multi-disciplinary center where all of the needs of the injuried athlete can be tended to. Its focus is on returning injuried athlete to the playing field as quickly and safely as possible. On-site staff include: a physician-specialist in primary care Sports Medicine, eight physical therapists who are well versed in state-of-the-art rehabilitation protocols for rapid return to activity, exercise physiologists and a sports nutritionist. Other personnel located near by include: Sports Medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, sports psychologists, and occupational therapists. On-site facilities include modalities, aerobic machines, a 25 yard swimming pool, and resistance training equipment. There is also an MRI center located a few steps away.
